Our take
Some aquarium plants, Amazon swords, cryptocorynes, feed mainly through their roots, and liquid ferts in the water column do not reach them. Root tabs fix that: push one into the gravel near the roots and it slowly releases iron and nutrients right where these plants take them up. Use them alongside a liquid supplement for the water-column feeders, replace every few months, and you will see the difference in a rooted plant that was previously sulking.
