An under-tank heat mat for belly heat, the way ground-dwelling reptiles like snakes take warmth. Use it with a thermostat, always.

Our take
Many ground reptiles, snakes especially, absorb heat through their belly from warm ground, and an under-tank mat provides exactly that. Stick it under one end of the tank to make a warm zone, leaving the rest cool. The non-negotiable safety point: a heat mat must run through a thermostat, because unregulated it can overheat and burn the animal or crack the glass. Never rely on the mat's own output alone.
