Alongside a humid hide, a plain dry hide gives a reptile somewhere to shelter and feel secure, and this half-log looks the part in any terrarium. Reptiles that cannot hide stay stressed, off their food and prone to illness, so cover is welfare, not decor. Add a little moss inside if you want a humid version.
