A general tonic salt that eases stress and supports gill function, used in moderation. A traditional aid, not an everyday additive.

Our take
Aquarium salt, not table salt and not marine salt, is a long-standing tonic: a modest dose supplies electrolytes that support gill function and can help fish through stress or minor illness. The honest caveats matter, though: it does not evaporate, so you only top it up at water changes; many plants and some catfish and other scaleless fish dislike it; and it is a support, not a cure. Use it deliberately for a reason, not as a routine additive to every tank.
