Our take
Tap water contains chlorine or chloramine that will burn a fish's gills, so every drop of water going into a tank, on setup and every water change, has to be treated first. Prime is the go-to because it is highly concentrated, so a tiny dose treats a lot of water, and it also temporarily detoxifies ammonia and nitrite, which buys you time in an emergency or a new tank. If you buy one bottle for a new tank, buy this. Dose it into the new water before it goes in.
