Guinea Pig Food
A fortified pellet with the stabilised vitamin C guinea pigs cannot make themselves. Get this wrong and they get scurvy.

Our take
Here is the thing that catches new guinea pig owners out: like humans, guinea pigs cannot make their own vitamin C, and without a daily source they get scurvy, painful and eventually fatal. This pellet is fortified with stabilised vitamin C for exactly that reason, on a timothy-hay base. Feed a measured daily portion with unlimited hay and fresh veg (peppers are great for extra C). Buy it fresh and use it within a few months, because the vitamin C degrades over time in the bag.
